FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

You Ask. We Answer!
  • How soon should I tan before an event?

It is best to tan 2-3 days before an event or wedding.

  • I'm getting married, when should I do a trial?

You will want to do your trial tan at least 2 weeks before your wedding tan. Most brides opt to do a package leading up to their wedding to test out different shades as well as tan for bridal showers, engagement photos and batchelorette parties.

  • Will I turn orange?

No! Our solution is formulated with the highest quality DHA and ingredients paired with detailed application to prevent any unwanted shades. We do a full color consult to ensure we pick the correct shade for your skin tone. "dark" isn't the same for every skin tone.

*Make sure to read our tanning tips to avoid products that can alter the color after you leave the studio.

  • How long will my tan last?

On average, you can expect your tan to last 6-10 days. Our skin naturally exfoliates every 4-14 days so it is very important to prep properly and follow aftercare instructions. The better care you take of your tan, the longer it will last and more even it will fade. Please keep in mind, we all have different skin textures and natural exfoliating cycles. We will work with you to find the perfect aftercare system for you.

  • Can I still burn/tan with a spray tan?

YES! Please always wear your sun protection when exposed to UV rays. Your outdoor tan will come in underneath your spray tan. Avoid burning at all costs. Sun damange is nothing to play with and a peeling spray tan is not very cute.

  • Can I get a spray tan if I am burnt/peeling?

We do not suggest spray tanning until you are done peeling. It can take up to two weeks (sometimes longer) after the initial sunburn for peeling to completely stop. If you spray over this it will make the tan come off unevenly and patchy. Wear your sunscreen!

  • I have tan lines, can you even these out?

Slight tan lines are a simple fix, we will always ask you first if you would like them evened out. More severe tan lines take a little extra love, we can disguse them tremendously, in some cases you may still be able to see a very faint line.

*For extremely severe tan lines you may need to do a contour upgrade due to the extra time and product.

  • How does a spray tan work?

The active ingredient in our soultion (DHA) reacts with your amino acids when exposed to oxygen. Think of an apple being cut open, the sugar turns brown. A spray tan reacts similar.

  • I'm pregnant, can I still tan?

We have had 100's of mamas to be get tans by us but we always suggest waiting until after the first trimester as well as consulting with your doctor first. We will happily provide an ingredient list for you to show them.

  • How often should I spray if I want to be consistently tan?

Most of our regular tanners spray every 7-10  days. You want to make sure to exfoliate your old tan off completely before your next session. Tanning on top of tan actually makes the new tan fade faster and patchy.
