What is a Spray Tan?
Spray tanning is the latest thing to hit the tanning industry. A spray tan technician uses a spray gun to apply a tanning solution (DHA) to the client's body. The spray gun is attached to an air compressor and the solution is applied in the same form as if one were spray painting.

Is It Safe?
Yes, Sunless tanning is a safe and proven method of obtaining a tan. As with any personal product, sensitivity can occur but is very rare. If an individual has ever had any adverse effects utilizing self-tanning products or moisturizers, they might experience similar effects with spray tanning. The active ingredient DHA or dihydroxiacetone is derived from sugar beets and has been FDA approved for topical application and used for tanning creams since the 1960's. DHA has also been used in cosmetics for decades. When DHA comes in contact with the amino acids of the skin, it creates a natural chemical reaction that causes the skin to appear tanned.

What is sunless tanning?
Sunless tanning uses a spray-on system to provide a tan-like skin coloring without the use of ultraviolet light rays. A fine mist of DHA (dihydroxyacetone) is applied evenly to the skin to produce a reaction on the epidermis (the outer layer of skin). DHA reacts with skin proteins to produce a bronze coloring within two to 24 hours.

Spray tans usually last for up to a week, depending on factors such as how often you shower, shave or exfoliate. Our formula includes cosmetic bronzers so that you leave our salon with a temporary tan as your DHA treatment takes effect.

Does a spray protect you from the sun?
NO! Spray tanning DOES NOT protect you from the sun. It is recommended that a sunscreen be used at any time you go out into the sun.

How long does an airbrush tan last?

Depending on the skin type, a tan will last 8 to 12 days (depending on how well you lotion on a regular basis). Like a suntan, the sunless tan will fade gradually, as your skin exfoliates. However, you can help to extend your tan by using salon quality moisturizers daily. Be sure to check out our after care kits when your in.

How often can you tan?

You can tan every 5-7 days if desired. Although the average tan lasts 8 to 12 days if moisturized properly.

How many times do I need to tan to achieve desired color?
